COLLEGE ACADEMIC COACH FOR AT-RISK STUDENTS
The College Coach will assist our students as they navigate their class requirements, guiding them towards earning their degrees by focusing on academic achievement and course completion. This can be a part-time or full-time position with some work from home flexibility.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to students with regard to their academic progress
- Review syllabi and class material; create semester calendar and track due dates and deadlines for all course work
- Meet with students on campus and/or in-office; communicate by phone/text on a regular basis to
- Help students stay on track; assist with studying and assignment completion
- Assist students in developing study and organizational skills, including how to use an agenda to calendar and follow due dates
- Coordinate tutoring as needed
- Liaison with college team personnel as needed
- Complete weekly student progress reports
- Attend weekly team meetings
- Be aware of important college academic calendar dates
- Be aware of information on school campuses that may be useful tools or resources
Candidate Will:
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
- Be able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
- Exercise patience and flexibility with students
- Be able to multitask and problem solve
- Be able to meet schedules and deadlines
- Have reliable transportation
- Must have bachelor’s degree or higher
