With so many students in our program, preparing for the holidays becomes a big job. We start by collecting wish lists for the students, and then making sure we fill each and every one of them, with the help of many organizations and donors, such as The Giving Tree, Spirit of Giving, and others. Every student received a customized Christmas stocking, filled with goodies. They also received pajamas, courtesy of our longstanding partnership with Campus Management. We collected holiday cookies from many in our community- enough to give every student 2 boxes full. They each had the opportunity to experience giving, which we will share more about in a later post. We held our annual holiday party for our older students, and plan to add an elementary school-aged party next year.
It is a lot of work, but with the help of so many volunteers, we got it all done and helped make the holidays a little bit more special for the students in our program. Happy Holidays to all!!
