About our Anchor Award recipient:

The Anchor Award is presented annually to recognize an individual for his/her distinguished work, advocacy and tireless dedication to improving the lives of children in foster care in our community. This year our Anchor Award recipient is Larry Rein!

Larry Rein is the Chief Executive Officer & President of ChildNet, the non-profit Community Based Care lead agency contracted by the state to manage the foster care systems in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. He has been with ChildNet since its inception in 2002, previously serving as Vice President of Network Development and Palm Beach Executive Director.

He is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee of both the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition and the Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network, the Managing Entities for Substance Abuse and Mental Health in both counties. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee of both the Florida Coalition for Children and the Florida Coalition for Children Foundation, the statewide associations of Community Based Care lead agencies and service providers.  He has a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a Master of Science degree from St. John’s University.
