 Best Foot Forward Announces New Board Members

Boca Raton, FL.- Best Foot Forward announced the appointment of Steven Jackson, J.C. Perrin and Brett Centerbar to its Board of Directors for a two-year term.

“We are delighted to add these incredible community leaders to the Board of Directors,” said co-founder Debbie Ellman. “We are honored that J.C., Steven and Brett have made a commitment to utilize their time, talent and resources to help us increase the visibility and impact of our important programs.

About the New Board Members:

J.C. Perrin
J. C. Perrin is a Senior Vice President and Lead Accelerator at Seacoast National Bank. J.C. has 29 years of experience in meeting clients’ financial needs, as well as those of their business or profession.  J.C. leads a team of experienced Accelerators in  Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach Gardens that provide commercial banking services to businesses, owners and employees throughout South Florida.

He began his career in 1985 with Barnett Bank in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Via Wachovia, SunTrust, 1st United Bank, JP Morgan, and U.S. Trust, he has provided comprehensive banking and wealth management services to clients in South Florida.
Community minded,  he served as a Director of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, Chairing the organization in 2000-01.  He was recognized as Business Leader of the Year in 2006.  Having a passion for education, he currently Chairs the Chamber’s Golden Bell Education Foundation, was the founding Chair of the Career Academy Advisory Board at West Boca High School and received the prestigious 2010 ACTE National Carl Perkins Humanitarian Award, and volunteers regularly with the George Snow Scholarship Fund.   He also is a past director of the Governing Board of West Boca Medical Center, current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mae Volen Senior Center, and Director at the Unicorn Children’s Foundation.

STEVEN JACKSON
Steven Jackson is the co-owner of The Greenroom Salon and very active community member in Boca Raton, Florida,

Born in Manchester, England, Jackson went straight into a 3-year apprenticeship program directly from high school, training with Steiner, a global leader operating spas on board over one hundred luxury cruise ships that sail all over the world. As part of his training, Jackson navigated his way through the seas and the world of cosmetology, servicing thousands of clients and ultimately building a body of knowledge that sets him apart from other salon owners and stylists.

A celebrated stylist, Jackson has won many awards throughout his career beginning with Apprentice of the Year during his training. In addition, while traveling in South Africa, he placed third in the Wella Color Trophy, a national contest of more than 1,000 participants.  Upon opening The Greenroom Salon in 1995, he and his partners also won several design awards.

At The Greenroom, Jackson helps co-manage day-to-day operations and is responsible for staffing and training. He services a vast book of clients who frequent the salon for his styling prowess. Jackson was an integral force behind the development of the Greenroom Salon’s proprietary product line.

When he’s not in the salon, Jackson enjoys an active lifestyle, participating in a regular fitness regimen that includes working out and cycling. He is also an avid reader and an animal lover, often found at the “dog park” with his two dogs. He has lived in South Florida for nearly twenty-three years.

On a philanthropic front, he has been an active supporter of Best Foot Forward for over 3 years. He has participated in several events as well as hosting events at the salon to benefit the agency. Jackson was recently the leading fundraiser in an AIDS charity bike ride, which took him from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale. He also donates his time to Feline Friends in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

BRETT CENTERBAR

Brett Centerbar, from Mt. Dora Florida, is committed to making a difference in his community. With an entrepreneurial spirit Brett has been helping people with their technology for over 7 years. His company, Centerbar Solutions, specializes in helping people with their computers and devices in the comfort of their home. They are experts in one-on-one training, data recovery, computer repair, WiFi and security, and also can translate technical details to non-technical people. Brett currently resides in Delray Beach, Florida and enjoys Tennis, Snowboarding, Skimboarding, and Cycling.
